Staff Product Designer (contract)

Ideaire is looking for a Product Design Leader to own the design vision and execution for a new SaaS product for creative teams. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Ideaire and Client Leadership to shape how teams plan, collaborate, review, and deliver digital assets — ensuring projects ship on time and on budget through intuitive workflows and seamless review cycles.

You are the design owner for this project — not just a contributor. This is a 0→1 opportunity — you’ll define the product’s design language, user flows, and interaction patterns from the ground up for the MLP. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, a deep understanding of creative team dynamics, and the ability to translate complex processes into elegant, usable interfaces.

This is a project-based, up to 14-week, 20 - 25 hour per week contract engagement, focused on a client-specific initiative. Extension may be considered upon completion of the engagement. Key objective for this engagement involves taking an early-stage concept from idea to prototype and through user testing.

Why This Role Matters

Creative teams thrive on collaboration — but managing assets, feedback, and deadlines can be chaotic. Your work will define how these teams plan, review, and deliver work efficiently. As the design leader on this 0→1 product, you’ll shape not just how it looks, but how it works — transforming complex creative workflows into simple, intuitive and delightful experiences.

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit, we’d love to hear from you! Please email Lytang@Ideaire.com with a brief note about why you’re excited about this role, along with a link to your updated LinkedIn profile, your portfolio, your earliest possible start date, and your estimated budget and hourly rate for the scope described above. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

    • Lead the end-to-end design process, from research to wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.

    • Establish the product’s design principles, interaction patterns, and visual system to ensure consistency and scalability.

    • Partner closely with the Product Manager to define feature scope, and the user experience vision.

    • Design intuitive workflows that streamline project planning, creative review, and approval processes, and other required platform level functionality.

    • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate assumptions and inform design decisions.

    • Advocate for the user across every stage of development, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and delight in the experience.

    • Help define and document a scalable design system to support rapid iteration and growth.

    • 7+ years of product design experience, ideally within SaaS or workflow-heavy B2B products.

    • A track record of designing complex systems with multiple user roles, states, or approval steps.

    • Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, and usability — you think deeply about how people get work done.

    • Experience partnering directly with product managers and engineers in cross-functional teams.

    • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC, etc.) and comfort with prototyping.

    • Excellent communication skills — able to explain design rationale clearly and persuasively.

    • (Nice to have) Familiarity with creative operations, digital asset management, or review-and-approval workflows.

    • A strategic mindset that connects user experience to business impact — helping creative teams save time and reduce friction.

    • The ability to bring structure and clarity to open-ended problems and guide others through ambiguity.
